What Are Some Examples of Opening and Closing Prayers? According to Lord's Prayer Words, an opening prayer should consist of an address to God, an expression of gratitude, a request and a closing of worship followed by an amen to acknowledge agreement between those present at the meeting. Then the instructional part of class begins, perhaps with a memorization exercise, or review of last week, etc. At the end of class we share prayer requests and close in an extemporaneous prayer from one or more people. Regarding the above order of opening prayer: I put together a several page booklet and give one to each catechumen.

Opening Prayer For Class

We are so grateful for this opportunity to share and relive the wonderful memories of our high school days – days filled with laughter, with shouts of joy and happiness, with dreams and aspirations, with energy and enthusiasm, and especially with beautiful life-giving friendships. How we treasure the valuable gifts we are to one another! Lord, we are also excited to discover where Your grace has taken us since we received our coveted diplomas five decades ago. Let us rejoice in one another’s stories of living and loving, of spouses and families, outstanding achievements and accomplishments, fascinating careers, and lives of service. Through Your gift of years, O Lord, we have come to understand that even the heartaches, detours, and difficulties along the way were really Your blessings giving direction and meaning to our lives. Hold close to Your heart today, Lord, those in our class whom you have called home to Yourself. As You enfold them in Your embrace, may they also feel our arms wrapped around them and thus experience the warmth of our love.
